Since 14 years, Julie de Saint Blanquat learned with different teachers such as Lolie and Lamia Safiéddine and dance Middle Eastern dances in Paris. She has been teaching and performing Bellydance and Tribal styles in France since 2005.
Willing to deepen her acknowledge, she took part in specialized workshops in Middle Eastern dances with renowned teachers, such as Aïda Nour, Djamila Henni-Chebra, Yousry Sharif, Beata & Horacio, Mahmoud Reda, Farida Fahmy, Suraya Hilal or Simona Jovic. In the past few years, she also discovered American Tribal Dance and Tribal-Fusion and followed some workshops in Europe to learn those new styles. Julie trained in American Tribal Style® (ATS®) by Carolena Nericcio (FatChance BellyDance®) and Megha Gavin during several intensive sessions since 2006, and also by Susan Frankovich, Meissoun, as well as in tribal-fusion with Samantha Emmanuel, Sharon Kihara, Anasma, Unmata or Morgana. Julie is the first American Tribal Style® Sister Studio In France.
She develop these styles in France and has been teaching ATS® and ATF since 2007.
Open-minded and curious, she is particularly interested in fusions. Julie practiced two years of salsa, then Argentinian tango, and was initiated to Flamenco, Bollywood dance and Hip-hop. All these dances come to enrich her artistic sensitivity and gradually her choreographic work. The richness of these arts, like the discovery of the cultures surrounding them, is highly inspirational for her.
Passionate, Julie is intensely working in favor of the emergence of a tribal dance community in France and founded the first festival dedicated to tribal and fusions in France: the BellyFusions Festival.
